Lemon (getlemon.app) is a food safety record-keeping app for UK kitchens. It helps restaurant owners, chefs and kitchen managers keep everyday checks, problems and follow-up records together.
The app is operated by Lemon App OÜ, an Estonian company. Our product is built for the work of running a food business: take the check, record what happened and make the record available when it needs reviewing.

Completed checklist records show who finished the check and when. Use those records alongside the actual supervision, equipment checks and food-handling practices in your kitchen.
How Lemon fits your food safety system
Your food safety system describes the procedures your business follows. Lemon helps you record the work of putting them into practice.
If you use SFBB, keep your completed safe methods and required diary confirmation accessible. If your business uses CookSafe, Safe Catering or another HACCP-based system, use the procedures and records appropriate to it. Lemon does not generate a HACCP plan or certify that a kitchen complies with the law.

Who Lemon is a useful fit for
Lemon is intended for teams who take and record their own food-safety checks. That includes independent restaurants, cafés, pubs and takeaways, as well as owners managing records for more than one kitchen.
You can keep each location's records and team access separate. Before a wider rollout, compare the actual workflow with the reporting and oversight your operation needs.
Staff training in Lemon Pro+
Lemon Pro+ adds food hygiene, allergen awareness and food safety management courses. Managers use Lemon's web admin to assign courses, review progress and keep training records. Staff learn in the Lemon app using the same account and kitchen membership.
Course-completion certificates are PDFs. Managers can also export Training assignment records as CSV, including completion details and the latest workplace observation. These are separate from your kitchen's PDF food-safety reports.
The courses support your team's learning; they do not replace training in your own procedures. Completion certificates are not accredited or regulated qualifications.
Know the limits before you choose
Lemon does not currently connect to temperature sensors or create a HACCP plan for you. It also does not provide durable offline recording. Use an internet connection to reliably load and save records.
The allergen matrix holds the information your team enters. It does not calculate allergens from ingredients, check a supplier specification or create food labels automatically.
Food-safety reports are PDFs. On the web, the report opens the browser's print workflow, where you can print it or save a PDF.
Plans and getting started
Lemon has two plans: Lemon Pro for record-keeping and Lemon Pro+ with staff training, both charged per location. See the current plans and prices for what each plan includes.
New owners create their account and first kitchen on the web. The team can then sign in on iPhone, Android or the web. The iPhone app is for signing in to an existing kitchen.
