Staff training

Food safety courses come with Lemon: your team take them on their phones, while owners and managers assign them and keep the records in a browser.

Where it happens

The browser part is the web admin, at admin.getlemon.app. In the app, assigned courses wait under Today → Training. The same email and password works in both, and your kitchens and your team are already there, so there is nothing to set up first. The results, certificates and workplace checks are kept alongside your other records.

The courses

  • Food hygiene essentials. For food handlers. The everyday habits behind safe food, from storage and preparation to cleaning and personal hygiene.
  • Allergen awareness. For kitchen and front-of-house teams. Handle customer questions with care. Understand allergens, clear communication and preventing cross-contact.
  • Food safety management. For managers and supervisors. Put HACCP-based food safety into practice, with SFBB and CookSafe editions for your location.

Each course is a handful of short lessons with practice questions, then an assessment. The content follows official guidance, including the Food Standards Agency's Safer food, better business pack for England and Wales and Food Standards Scotland's CookSafe manual.

Certificates

Passing the assessment produces a completion certificate. It records the course taken and the result. It is not an accredited or regulated qualification, and it does not replace showing someone how your own kitchen works.

Good to know

  • Training is part of the one Lemon plan and of the free trial. Assign as many courses to as many people as you like, with no fee per person.
  • Assigning a course does not send an email, so tell your team when one is waiting for them.
  • Progress is saved as you go, so a course can be done in stages between shifts.
  • A workplace check records that a manager has watched someone put a course into practice. Nobody signs off their own, whatever their role.
